THE REVIEW

Another Italian debut that feels very little like Italian. Like Port-Royal, to put it simply. However, they have a different genre and attitude. Well, well. Nothing very new, their predecessors are evident from the second listen, but they know what they're doing, with enthusiasm, energy, conviction, and the right technique. I don't know how they are live, I believe not far from the levels of the album.
Between crowd-pulling rock and danceable rock, partly for the hips of the young women and partly for the feet of the seasoned ones.

The lyrics are not important in this genre, and to be harsh, I wonder what they're doing written in the CD booklet… it would have been better if they weren't there, to be honest…

Recommended: for those looking for some energetic relief from the summer heat
Not recommended: for those expecting them to be "the new big thing" in Italy. I mean: they're not Subsonica, nor Marlene Kuntz, not even Planet Funk, much less LCD Soundsystem... but they are admirable, and I have a gut feeling they will surprise us in the future. Your call.

Summary by Bot

Disco Drive’s debut combines rock and dance with notable energy and technique, appealing to listeners seeking a lively sound. While not groundbreaking, the album shows promise. Lyrics play a minor role but don't detract. Recommended for energetic summer listening, though not for those expecting major Italian breakthrough.
