Diorama is Torben Wendt's band, Amaroid is their fourth album. Always associated with the great Diary of Dreams by Adrian Hates, over time however, they have managed to evolve from the figure of a clone group. In fact, the previous "The Art Of Creating Confusing Spirits" was an album where electronics had taken over and had somewhat abandoned the decadent atmospheres of the first two albums. Amaroid continues on this path, but in my humble opinion, in an even better way. It starts with Logic Friends, a nervous track, a bit challenging as an opener, but one I have learned to appreciate over time, so much so that now it is one of my favorite tracks. It then moves on to The Girls, the most danceable and aggressive track of the CD; Torben reflects on the difficulties that man has in communicating with the opposite sex, creating a wonderful song that explodes into a chorus worthy of an anthology. Dear Brother is the pinnacle of the CD, with stunning lyrics and a song with a dramatic crescendo in which Torben, with his desperate voice, seems to call for help BEAUTIFUL. Another novelty of the album is a slight David Bowie influence, explicit in this sense, is the fifth track Friend We Used To Know. The rest of the CD continues on these coordinates, alternating sweet and darkish ballads and more energetic, danceable tracks suitable for the darkest clubs.

In conclusion, I recommend this CD, which I remind you was released in 2005, to all those who love certain "DARK" atmospheres of the 80s, reinterpreted with a modern and refined perspective. As far as I am concerned, it was one of the best releases of 2005, and even today, after two years, I listen to it very often because it truly is worth it. Greetings to everyone
