What I am about to review is yet another work by the Teuto-Scandinavian group "Dionysus," namely "Fairytales and Reality."

This time, Dionysus offers Epic Metal with Power nuances not very different from their previous albums; except for the guitar, which is heavier and more metallic than in the past.

It starts with Illusion of Life, a song that opens with a light arpeggio and explodes after about a minute; the guitar parts are splendid, pity for the not-so-perfect chorus. Skipping over The Orb, a rather mediocre track, we encounter the epic and dramatic Blinded where Dionysus shows their poetic vein. The more pressing rhythms return with The World, a song that is not particularly inspired but passable. At number 5 on the setlist is Spirit, a piece similar to Blinded but better than the latter; then come Queen of Madness and The Game, tortuous songs with sudden slowdowns and subsequent speed-ups, fantastic solos and choruses in both. True at Heart, on the other hand, is very aggressive and conveys all the adrenaline of a battle; it competes for the best title with the following Tides Will Turn, also powerful and aggressive, which will perform very well live thanks to the exhilarating chorus. Almost at the close, we have the useless filler Dreamchaser, which preludes The End, a very long song (about 8 minutes) but, in my opinion, lacking ideas and not very convincing.

In conclusion, "Fairytales and Reality" is an excellent album whose strengths are the choruses and guitar parts and, though not without flaws, will greatly appeal to Heavy and Power enthusiasts while I recommend it to those who want to approach metal.
