Highly underrated. The sound becomes more "pop," yet at the same time very experimental. The 8 minutes of Alone speak for themselves. Probably the best song in their discography. But then there are "I'm Insane," "Nothin's Goin On," and the powerful opening of "I Don't Think"... In short, it's an essential '90s album for all true lovers of alternative/noise/indie rock music. Then they broke up for nearly a decade, only to return with the excellent Beyond and those two masterpieces, Farm and I Bet On Sky. The last two are also beautiful, but they still do not reach the level of this one.

Hand it over confirms itself as an extremely ambitious work although certainly not as inspired as in the best days.

Those who especially appreciate Mascis’s guitar eruptions will find something to chew on in 'Loaded', in the rattling 'Can’t we move this' and in the disenchanted 'Mick'.
