THE REVIEW

It seems that in times of crisis, one absolutely must distract oneself: yes, indeed, escaping reality for a moment to venture into a world of fantasy, where everything is beautifully green and brown, is not a bad thing.

So here's the right soundtrack for those dreams on the edge of the absurd, yet beautiful: sex packets.

Labeled 1990, the album in question has become a true masterpiece of rap music, thanks to its psychedelic sounds, from which it seems impossible to escape; yes, the digital underground, thanks to their alternative style, managed to stand out in a landscape divided between gangsta and hardcore rap.

Ready then to let yourself be dragged into the deviant universe of shock g: absurd characters, crazy creations, and unusual rhymes, all crowned by new sounds, which are split between p funk and jazz; these are the ingredients for an incredibly fresh and genuine album, even 21 years later.

Ready then to shake your booty while listening to tracks like the humpty dance, underwater and freaks of the industry (the piano loop in the latter is something else) or to completely let go while listening to tracks like packet prelude, sex packets or packet reprise, an anthology on a drug that causes hallucinations with sexual backgrounds and continuous orgasms (not bad, huh?); it's hilarious then, tracks like the way we swing (that's how we do it) and packet man (let's try to pawn this drug on someone). A final note on the jazz interludes, which, despite their relative importance, manage to convey a sense of completeness.

An album with a style all its own, to be listened to if you are fans of the genre and need to indulge a little; give it some thought....
