I found myself holding an old copy of alias, the well-known weekly music-art-idleness supplement, from last month or something like that. I browse the ultrasuoni page, still in a daze from last night, when my eye catches the icon of the little man jumping on the chair, which means that the work in question, Warm Brother by Digital Leather, has received praise. Curious, I take a tour on the web for some casual listening, but instead of focusing on the newly released album, I amuse myself with the first of the group's four works, "Monologue" from 2006.

An atheist album like a billiard ball. Just a few minutes in and my late morning idleness is polarized by the drive of the tracks that chase each other, and I start to tap my knuckles on the table hypnotically, as well as nodding my head back and forth like an amused kid. The album runs fast, the base is pounding, the keyboard is dirty, the dark voice repeats the same verses several times, aligning with the rest. In their words, "Dark Flower In The Future." As if the early Biohazard had played Movement by New Order, with Echo on drums, and the rest of the Bunnymen enjoying this punk wave snack, or something like that.

I continue to browse the web, where it seems that Digital Leather was originally a one-man-band project by Mr. Shawn Foree (or Sean, depending on the source) from Yuma, Arizona, to which Mr. Bryan Wong (or Ryan, see above) joined initially and later, I gather for touring, Mr. Rusty Rousseau (synth) and Steve Sleaze (fuzzy guitar). In the meantime, I keep listening to the ten tracks (or eleven, depending on the version) of this album which, although frivolous, remains an enjoyable listen. I really think that, since Deb does not mention any of their works, I might almost lose my review virginity with a "review" after a few weeks of carefully stepping in...

The rating, right, here is what... I’d say a three, well, but yes, after all it is a debut...
