THE REVIEW

Compilation of the early years of Diaframma amidst the mists of the Florentine dark.

The sound is dry, dark, reminiscent of the early Joy Division (of which there is also a cover "Ceremony"). Fiumani's poetic vein, which will make the group great, is already emerging, although here it is still somewhat raw, too tied to dark stereotypes.

Besides Federico Fiumani on guitars, there are the Cicchi brothers on rhythm section and Nicola Vannini on vocals. It is indeed the latter who fails to give the right contribution, as his singing is too claustrophobic (the following year he will be replaced by Miro Sassolini, and the results will be much more convincing).

Ultimately, it is a good album, which despite some naiveties (and a production not up to par) already hints at what future developments will be.
