Very often there are albums that are difficult to describe precisely and directly, while also giving a clear idea of their content, whether because they are too complicated on a stylistic or emotional level, or because we are particularly attached to them and cannot express the sensations they evoke in us, and so on.

Fortunately, there are also cases where the musical proposition itself makes everything simpler for us, and one of these is precisely "Metal Discharge" by the Teutonic Destruction, a work that I feel I can describe as a rock-solid and square megalith of pure "old school" Thrash Metal. The band, as many of you well know, is certainly not known for its progressive and atmospheric attitude; in fact, their fame arises precisely from being fast, direct, and straightforward, without being trivial or clichéd, and this work of theirs certainly doesn't belie that reputation, for as soon as the digital media is inserted into the player, you are immediately hit by the blind fury of "The Ravenous Beast", an excellent introduction featuring a fast and razor-sharp riff and an abrasive voice like never before (listen to "Vendetta" and hear Schmier "clearing" his throat with a "grace" never heard before).

The rest of the tracks is practically in line with the one just mentioned, although a freshness in the songwriting phase and a certain dose of experience from our friends make it all particularly captivating, smooth and not boring, as evidenced by that splendid example of "inflame crowds" that answers to the name of "Desecrators Of The New Age", a martial and brazen anthem, with a muted guitar and a refrain that immediately etch into your mind (listen to believe!).

Ultimately, a masterpiece, then, and yet there is a small downside and if you’ve read my analysis you may have already anticipated it, in fact I am referring to the aspect of the work that I deliberately overlooked until now, which is the drums that, despite the excellent work by the good Marc Reign, have a sound that I don't like very much, as it often falls into a "clang" (pardon the poor onomatopoeia, but I hope I’ve explained myself) that can be annoying and that disappears in the bonus disc containing splendid covers of Iron Maiden ("Killers", with a stellar Mike reproducing the classic "maidenian" piece without twisting it), Metallica ("Whiplash") and The Exploited ("USA"), along with other little gems. In conclusion, a truly excellent work, fresh, fun, and damn engaging that I recommend to all lovers of good German-styled Thrash Metal.
