Risen from the ashes of the metalcore band My Sweet Nightmare, Desource have played live with well-known names in the national alternative scene (The Secret, Locked In...) and have received excellent feedback from two renowned producers like Greg Haver (Bullet For My Valentine) and Joe Barresi (Tool, Parkway Drive) as they reach their long-awaited recording debut.

First of all, forget how these young musicians sounded in the previous group: there's not even a trace of metalcore here. Well, so what is it about? It's about a work with many faces, and I'm not kidding: one of Desource's strengths is undoubtedly having good melodic taste, which has allowed them to structure very varied sound textures among themselves with a strongly rock aftertaste.

Rock, indeed: one of the elements present in their DNA. As you continue to listen, you will notice how today's trend of moving towards progressive shores has influenced them as well, showcasing odd times and intricate solutions where only speed of execution has made it possible to insert sung parts in what can be easily defined as chaos. Chaos that, often, is habitually associated with the term math, a genre that Desource must know in part and which they have only occasionally hinted at with some brief and fleeting moments within the tracklist.

And the dear old metalcore?! Gone, as we said, to make room for something much more akin to new school hardcore (see The Ghost Inside), with lyrics constantly pushed to the limit and whose only discordant note is represented (on few occasions it must be admitted) by a melodic singing that has little to do with the guidelines of this "Dirty Happiness". In conclusion, it's always very pleasant to encounter young musicians so well-prepared technically, a sign that in recent years, even Italy has managed to rise to the levels of nations much better known for their musical scenes. Support, please.
