"Dark and Stormy Night" Snoopy would say, excessive tiredness, a few too many coffees, and your neurons, the hypnoinducing ones, refuse to do their job: simplifying to the max... darn insomnia!

You are surrounded by silence, others sleep the sleep of the righteous and you turn on the computer, put on the headphones, and decide to give yourself a Boxing Day gift... at three in the morning(?).

I go on my Myspace, open my music player and my finger points straight to the DESIDIA!

I had no particular intention, other than to listen to the band that has kept me great company this year, which I discovered relatively late, but that I've loved since the first listen: it had been years (or decades) since I found myself so captivated from the first to the last track...

The idea and the action are in sync: I decide to write down these sensations of mine, without having the slightest competence in writing a musical review (even though this is not always a bad thing!)

The Desidia are a musical band from Turin, open to various influences: 70s rock, psychedelia, grunge, alternative..., that's how they describe themselves! The truth is that when you listen to their melodies, you feel their aggressiveness, you perceive their vitality... they provide you with strong and deep sensations and impressions.

The first great pieces, "Violet" and "Magnolia", the rock ballads "Gotica e lunatica" and "L'Aquilone", are perhaps introductory tracks, as they say? Warming up, but they accompany you up an imaginary staircase and prepare you to open that door, behind which hides the absolutely terrifyingly perfect first track!!! Like Red Hot Chili Pepper: legendary!

"Il male": starts with an electric bass and, in succession, a perfect layering of voices, guitars, drums in an atomic! crescendo

Right after, you haven't recovered yet, "L'Imperfezione", the title track, arrives, which is actually "perfection": a sweet song, perhaps nostalgic, enveloping like a sensual embrace, counterpointed by piano, acoustic guitar, violin, and cello: it's an "extrasensory" experience.

We are heading home with "Libera il tuo re" and "Strega": energetic tracks, but more human.

"Nudacrudele": we are back to the starting point, rock, the Italian one, strong and disruptive, with a hint of Police...

An album from 2007, a band, the Desidia, like few on the Italian rock stage!

What satisfaction, I've finished writing and listening... the tension is gone, I feel relaxed: I remove the headphones, I want to go to bed,....
