And here she is again, Demi Lovato, with her fourth album Demi. This record neither subtracts from nor adds anything to its predecessor Unbroken. The structure is laid out in an incomprehensible way, so much so that some songs may temporarily seem incoherent with the rest of the album. It starts with the lead single, "Heart Attack," which most likely has been computer-modified and not subtly at that. "Made in the USA" continues with dance atmospheres, spiced up with a typical American country feel. "Without The Love" is not exceptional, but it has a chorus that easily gets stuck in your head. "Neon Lights" is a little daring, but the result still manages to convince. One of the most confused pieces on Demi is "Two Pieces," which starts as a rhythmic piano ballad and transitions into a danceable chorus. The ballad section opens definitively with "Nightingale," personally one of the least successful on the album. Strange, because Lovato has in her repertoire this ability to construct piano chords and sing over them masterfully. She proves it in the following track "In Case," which brings tears after the first two lines. Then it returns to a more cheerful mood with a series of four classic American pop pieces. The series begins with "Really Don't Care," a collaboration with rapper Cher Lloyd. However, it does not leave an impression as much as the beautiful "Fire Starter," the best track on the album in my opinion. "Something That We're Not" is still in the pop theme, more for teenagers, but somehow... The most thought-out of the four, however, is "Never Been Hurt": deep lyrics, stunning music, speechless. The last two songs are also very particular: "Shouldn't Come Back" is accompanied by guitar, "Warrior" (note the beautiful lyrics) by piano.

An album that convinces, albeit not entirely, the Lovatics and serves as a confirmation for them of their idol's desire to grow...
