Penultimate work for the blasphemous Deicide, who with this work confirm themselves as one of the greatest death metal bands of all time.
The album is a true assault on the eardrums, full of brutality and blasphemy as the Floridians have taught us for years. There are no weak points in this CD and the first track is indeed the title track, characterized by a very massive start only to explode with Glen Benton's voice taking the lead. The guitar solo in full Slayer style is perfect. The album maintains the same coordinates throughout its duration, fast and blasphemous death metal as only they know how to do, great are "When Heaven Burns" and "The Pentacostal".
The sick riffs that these metal geniuses are able to invent are astonishing, with very particular interweavings with the drums that create a wall of sound that would even scare Krisiun.
There's not much to add, "Scars Of The Crucifix" is a masterpiece, a kick in the butt towards all the detractors of the band, and Benton and company have reacted in the best way they know how, with deeds.
"Nine total tracks, just under half an hour of pure violence in brutal death flavor, fast and no-frills songs."
"The lyrics, as usual, are strictly blasphemous and have the sole purpose of pouring hatred on Christians and the Catholic religion; praising, on the contrary, Mr. Satan."
