First point: this "Back To School ep" is meant only for fans.
For those who, like me, have made the music of Chino Moreno and company a reason for living. For those to whom the name Deftones is new (sacrilege!!!), I strongly recommend catching up on "White Pony" and "Around the fur".

Looking at the tracklist, you notice the original versions of Back to school and Pink maggit, taken from "White Pony", the acoustic version of Change (in the house of flies), and the live recordings of Feiticeira, Back to school, Nosebleed, and Teething. But the real highlight of this ep is the White Pony epk, an 8-minute short film where we are presented with an apocalyptic, very poetic scenario, interspersed with clips where the band plays in a dark and filthy room. Truly, truly beautiful and unique.

Second point: this review also wanted to be a sort of "tribute" to what I think is one of the best alternative bands of the '90s and today. To those who incorrectly say that the first two albums ("Adrenaline" and "Around the fur") were influenced by Korn, I respond with history: Deftones were born in 1988, while Korn in 1993.. moreover, the debut albums of the two groups were released a few months apart from each other. This is to dispel the supposed influence of Korn, a band that over time will show its clear inferiority to the guys from Sacramento. If we really need to find influences, they are the much more noble ones of Helmet and Quicksand, besides the dark wave of Cure and the like.

Okay, I think I've gone on long enough. Goodbye to all. My Rx Queen awaits me.
