Deep Purple -Come Taste The Band
the most underrated of them more
Deep Purple -In Rock
of theirs my favorite more
Pink Floyd -Live at Pompeii
for its historical value more
Yes -Tormato
similarly to RELAYER (making of course the necessary proportions...) an album made too hastily, it definitely wouldn’t have had much more to offer anyway, but even here, if they had taken more time in the production, a decidedly better product would have come out, just for the record anyway. that 2 is at least equivalent to a 2.5 (for now...) more
Yes -Relayer
Good, if not excellent, performance, although conceived, in my opinion, a bit hastily and therefore with some moments (at least lyrically) unresolved. If they had worked on it a bit more, IMHO, it could have resulted in, if not a masterpiece, at least a top-notch piece of work. more
Spock's Beard
If you listen to them just a few times in life, their "progressive pop" makes sense; in the longer tracks, they've done excellent work (The Light, The Water, At The End Of The Day, The Great Nothing). As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't compare to the great prog or even to the giants of the '90s (especially those who attempted similar musical directions, such as Porcupine Tree). more
Ihsahn
Essential. more
Carpathian Forest
I like them; they have a very nice way of playing. In my opinion, they are underrated compared to other bands. Even though they enjoy a good level of popularity. more
Rotting Christ
Great band. Theogonia is their best work; the only production that doesn't convince me is Aelo, which is very particular even though it's well-made, in my opinion. more
Monster Magnet
The latest album is the best since Dopes. more
The Band -The Band (The brown album)
Superlative musicians and record!! more
Long Distance Calling -Long Distance Calling
The third album chronologically is released in 2011 by the Teutonic band; seven lengthy tracks, with the exception of one, all instrumental, showcasing their propulsive sound that gains power, volume, and dynamism throughout the auditory journey. Drawing from Isis, they emphasize the dark, mantra-like component of a repeated sound, at times obsessive, as in the best track of the album, "Arecibo (Long Distance Calling)," featuring a finale where the wall of sound created annihilates you...ACCRESCITIVI. more
stan ridgway -the big heat
Your nasal voice and the harmonica excite me... You are one of a kind, Stan!! more
Spirit -Spirit
Group founded by Randy Craig Wolfe "California" (nickname given by Jimi Hendrix who wanted him in his band). Talented guitarist. more
Long Distance Calling
Post-rock almost exclusively instrumental with remarkable dynamism; a sound that unfolds through long “rising” tracks where many passages evoke the more evocative and dark Isis of "Oceanic" and "Panopticon." Their self-titled album from 2011 is explosive in building powerful, enveloping, contemplative soundscapes... INVISIBLE GIANTS... more
Camel -Camel
Great debut for Latimer's band, Burdens, and company, a bit "raw" compared to future works like "Mirage" or "Moonmadness" but polished, well-crafted, and featuring gems like "Mistic Queen" or "Arubaluba"... more
John Campbell -Howlin Mercy
Dismal, unsettling, profound, a gloomy and diabolical atmosphere... a personal tribute to one of the greats of blues, "The Wolf" Chester Burnett. Excellent work by the "sorcerer" Campbell, master of the slide and a prominent figure in recent blues... more
Randy California -Kapt. Kopter and The (Fabulous) Twirly Birds
After his experience with the Spirits, the young Randy California launches a new interesting project with the godfather and drummer Ed Cassidy and bassist Larry "Fuzzy" Knight. The result: a great album of covers/original songs, which didn’t receive much acclaim from critics but showcases all the excellent qualities of the musicians... more
The Stooges -Funhouse
Four stage animals, seven tracks that encapsulate grit, energy, and ferocity... great rock, in short... more
