Supertramp -Breakfast In America
Beautiful pop record, I've always liked it a lot. It doesn't quite reach a 5 but it's close, really a great album (and not even their best, after all). Tracks like "Goodbye Stranger," "Gone Hollywood," "Casual Conversations," and "Child of Vision" are worth the price of admission, or rather, the album. more
Hüsker Dü -Everything Falls Apart And More
For many diminished, but where do we place pieces like FROM THE GUT, WHEELS, GRAVITY, and PUNCH DRUNK? more
Fëdor Michajlovic Dostoevskij -Memorie Dal Sottosuolo
Between the negative monologue of a frustrated individual and his perverse memories, when one begins to narrate how life has contributed to reducing him to such a state, there lies a Dostoevskij who improvises as a paper psychologist of human mental turmoil. Among the greatest works of fiction that I know. more
Pere Ubu -The Modern Dance
Geniusly indefinable, I really don't know what to say... maybe it's also because I'm not an expert in the field.. great anyway. more
The Teardrop Explodes
English band active between 1978 and 1982, led by Julian Cope. Heavily influenced by the Doors as well as more intellectual punk, they are regarded as one of the founding figures of the English neo-psychedelic movement. more
Paolo Conte -The Best Of
The color of this voice is a dark orange that tastes of bitter and rare spice. more
Guns N' Roses -The Golden Collection
Axl's voice touches my old high school memories; it's impossible for me to speak ill of it. more
Temple of the Dog
Desert island disc... more
Buddy Guy -Drinkin' TNT 'n' Smokin' Dynamite
In addition to Buddy Guy and Junior Wells, note the presence of Bill Wyman (1974 Montreux Jazz Festival). more
Bo Diddley -The Essential Bo Diddley
He himself once said: "I put the rock in rock'n'roll." more
Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros -Global a Go-Go
Strummer's compositional ability was still alive. more
Jim Jarmusch
Nothing.
It conveys nothing, it communicates nothing.
No feelings, no emotions, no thoughts. Sometimes, boredom, but even that is scarce.
Nothing. Nothingness. more
The Heads -At Last
5 hours per side without any interruption. A hellish lysergic trip, FUZZ on steroids, like the Stooges kicked in the ass by Hawkwind, all in an ultra-noise key. Orgasmic stuff. I repeat, one of the most exciting bands around in the last 20 years. Damn them, they could release more records though... I had to sell my organs to buy them. more
Pelican -Australasia
Depth, hypnotism, ethereal digression; these are the first words, the first sensations that come to mind while listening to the debut of the American band. It's 2003, and the record label producing them is "Hydra Head Records," run by a certain Aaron Turner, Isis docet; thus, their sound can be easily traced to post, metal, and rock with one defining characteristic: the long and atmospheric tracks are instrumental, further enhancing that feeling of an endless cosmic journey...DROUGHT... more
Michael Mann -Collateral
Good and evil embodied in two men confronting each other in the darkness of the metropolis. Unusually, in the end, good triumphs. more
