Miriodor -Jongleries élastiques
A record like this leaves behind 3/4 of the prog scene of the nineties. Too complex at a compositional level to be immediately absorbed, it demands an effort that is, however, amply rewarded. For lovers of Rio or the Canterbury scene. more
Squaresoft -Final Fantasy VIII
Well, it’s still a great role-playing game. Personally, I’ve never been able to stand the overwhelming dominance of the G.F.s; I preferred the other chapters because the triad of magic/summons/physical attacks was more balanced. In this case, the Guardian Forces are treated like they’re Pokémon! You raise them, heal them, teach them abilities, etc...
The world’s topography is excellent, but it doesn’t hold up in comparison to the other chapters for PS1. more
Squaresoft -Final Fantasy IX
Worse than FFVII, better than FFVIII.
In my humble opinion: any agreements or lashings accepted... more
Sepultura -Schizophrenia
The Brazilians are starting to look far ahead with their second album; they have clear ideas about where they want to take their sound, which consists of raw and super-fast Death-Thrash. There are explosive tracks like "Escape To The Void" and "To The Wall"; there are also two pieces that are purely instrumental. However, a still lacking production, with a muddy, confusing, and chaotic sound, spoils the work of Max and his companions...THE ABYSS... more

In the eighties, the leader of the Commotions; then followed by a long solo career capable of delivering splendid pages of captivating, simple Rock-Pop. With his warm and enveloping voice, an additional gem...FOREST FIRE... more

Here’s another human case for us. Foolish and lacking in culture. Sure, we’re really in bad shape! But, excuse me, where the hell has true musical art gone??? more
Marco Mengoni
A typical singer of today, supported by a powerful music marketing machine, all "success" and 0 substance. They have the voice, but they use it poorly. more

Slapp Happy -Acnalbasac Noom
The original recording, from 1973, rejected by the German Polydor, finds light in the early eighties thanks to Recomended Records by Cris Cutler. Sparse arrangements and the legendary Faust's rhythmic foundation. In contrast, the beautiful cover by Peter Blegvad. High-class "pop," a sunny Dagmar like we will never hear again, caught as she will be between the artistic and political commitment of Cow and Brechtian interpretations. more
Slapp Happy -Casablanca Moon
After the rejection from Polydor in Germany to publish the album, they found approval with Virgin in London where it was recorded, enriched with new arrangements and released in 1974. An album with a pop spirit born between Kraut-rock and Rock in Opposition. more
Venomous Concept -Retroactive Abortion
In 2004, the debut album of this supergroup is released, although the record lasts only 27 minutes; it comes out on Mike Patton's label, "Ipecac." Discharge, Napalm Death, and Brutal Truth are blended together to create an intense, ferocious sound played at a speed I had rarely heard before. Sixteen tracks where violence dictates its harsh and twisted law...IDIOT PARADE... more
Venomous Concept
A sort of All Star Team of extreme music: Shane Embury, Danny Herrera, Kevin Sharp, Buzz Osborne (later replaced by Danny Lilker). Grindcore-Hardcore-Crust Punk played at a speed that exceeds all imagination...RETROACTIVE ABORTION... more
