Florence and the Machine -Lungs
"Lungs" contains pearls of light that cannot go unnoticed and makes it a great album. A light, catchy album that is at the same time visceral and engaging. more
The Smashing Pumpkins -Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness
The human disease is difficult to narrate without falling into the most sordid rhetoric. Billy Corgan has succeeded in this intent. more

Frankie Hi-NRG MC
"We are Pavlov's experimental dogs, whose salivation comes from the controlled, manipulated television, planned according to the schedule that outlines the day." Even when the schedule includes the Sanremo Festival or "The Voice Of Italy," eh Frankie? Who knows what those who think highly of themselves would say about your participation in a "reality" show funded with public money and "won" by a nun... more
Fugazi -Instrument Soundtrack
Released a year after "End Hits" to exemplarily close the nineties; we find ourselves listening to an album tied to the homonymous documentary about the band. The eighteen tracks serve as the perfect soundtrack to provide a precise auditory and visual documentation of what Fugazi was: a unique and unattainable band in the music scene of those years, but not only that; and it seems all too obvious to me to give this album the highest rating as well...PERFECT... more

Cosa Brava -Ragged Atlas
Excellent project by Fred Frith, where he sounds like a regular musician, composing songs and instrumental pieces in a more accessible way compared to many of his works. Recommended for those looking for something different. Folk in opposition? more

Outlaws -The Outlaws
Debut from 1975 for the band from Tampa, Florida, one of the most important in Southern rock. This album features great classics from their repertoire, such as "There Goes Another Love Song," the instrumental "Waterhole," and their "Free Bird," like "Green Grass & High Tides," a nine-minute showcase of guitar talent, one of the peaks of the genre... more
Jackson Browne -Late For The Sky
Many consider it his masterpiece; I would simply say it is an excellent work, perhaps his most intimate, sophisticated, and melancholic album, on par with or maybe more than the previous two works. Excellent songwriting, a refined author, and a stunning voice—one of the greatest American singer-songwriters of all time, as demonstrated by gems of great beauty such as "Late for the Sky," "Fountain of Sorrow," and the closing track "Before the Deluge"... more
Bruce Springsteen -Greetings From Asbury Park, N.J.
The first gasp of what Bruce will be. Perhaps unripe, a little awkward, but already tremendously "his." The beginning of it all could only be this. (8) more
Thin lizzy -jailbreak
A rock crystal that contains several extraordinary gems: from the power of the title track, to the subdued and irreverent rhythm of "Romeo and the Lonely Girl," from the anthem "The Boys Are Back in Town" to the epic Sabbath-like pathos of "Emerald." A special mention also goes to the ballad "Fight or Fall," one of my favorites from the band. Perhaps their peak. (8.5) more
Thin Lizzy -Fighting
In some ways, it has the same flaws as the previous "Nightlife," but here the songwriting doesn't work, especially in the new direction that Thin Lizzy wanted to give to their sound: that is, more direct, rock, even "street" compared to the psych/blues digressions of the early albums. The experiment doesn't really work, or at least I've never been able to enjoy it. (5.5) more
Thin Lizzy -Nightlife
A good album but I’ve never found the rawness and compositional necessity of "Vagabonds..." Too "diluted", steeped in ballads that, although excellently played, leave little behind. It's still an enjoyable and relaxing album, but I find it a tad overrated. (7) more
Jackson C. Frank
"I want to be alone. I need to touch each stone, face the grave that I have grown. I want to be alone". Just a wonderful album for this folksinger who deserves to be rediscovered and who has influenced many of his generation (most notably, a certain Nick Drake). more
