A little gem of science fiction that cost about 5 million. Aside from being shot with grace, and besides Rockwell's great acting performance, it delivers a harsh critique against capitalist society and the serialisation and thus the alienation of the workforce. "We are not clones, we are people." (8) more
Grandpa Woody here sings his love for New York, for the cinema of the past (there are several references to Fellini, Bergman, and Kubrick) and directs and stars in a work that is irreverent but politically "incorrect," where Allen's classic themes blend with a poetic quality of images that is excellently rendered in black and white. One of Allen's best. (8.5) more
The weakest album by the Swedes: ideas are lacking and everything moves sluggishly in a vintage rock that, except for a few flashes, conveys very little. (6) more
Herzog's muscular cinema in a Hollywood form that remains (or tries to be) auteur-driven. A film that is successful only halfway, lacking the ability to evoke strong emotions but still lingers beneath the surface. (6.5) more

He’s good at what he does, but it’s a shame he’s become a victim of his own character (Jack Sparrow). It’s harsh to say, but... the only way to make a comeback is to do another movie with Tim Burton or at least win an Oscar, since that's how it works in Hollywood, unfortunately. more
A good rocker who has been replaced by a lookalike android and a former gardener with malfunctioning sexual obsessions, probably due to the Millennium bug. more

The fact that he is my fellow citizen possibly diminishes me even more than his shitty music. However, the Timoria were OK, so that's an extra point. more
