Tiromancino -La Descrizione di un Attimo
a masterpiece of Italian light music with magnificent sounds. It's a shame they haven't matched these levels again. more
Depeche Mode
One of the few "mainstream" groups that truly produces quality stuff. Synth pop, electronic, blues rock, classical, and even gospel, and then there's "Violator." more
Tiromancino
Well, there are worse things out there... (and anyway, I forgive them for every nonsense with this gem Tiromancino - Strade (feat. Roberto Sinigallia) )

Jack London -The Star Rover
A fundamental work not only for what it represents in literature and specifically for that period, but also for what it encompasses in the entirety of human history. For humanity. This is what Jack London, a brilliant writer and true time traveler like the protagonist of his story, seeks to convey in this book, which is ultimately nothing more than an alter ego of himself. Yet Jack London did travel to the past, and this work is a testament that he did the same in the future. Alongside Burroughs, we're talking about the most intelligent pages I have ever read in my life.

The Stone Roses -Second Coming
Back then, twenty years ago, Love Spreads drove me crazy and then I slowly discovered the rest. The dub-funky-rock intro of the first song is spine-tingling. The first album by SR is a masterpiece, but this one is worth the price too. more
Pink Floyd -A Saucerful Of Secrets
A "transitional" album in a sense (out goes Syd, in comes Gilmour), but no less beautiful than its predecessor, bolstered by the presence of two absolute masterpieces such as "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" and "A Saucerful of Secrets," along with the haunting and heartbreaking farewell letter of "Jugband Blues" from a Barrett who is now irretrievable. "...and what exactly is a dream..." more
Abel Ferrara -King of New York
A polished gangster movie directed by Abel Ferrara and starring Christopher Walken as the lead. Recently released from prison, drug lord Frank White wants to somehow clean up his 'curriculum' by getting back into business and at the same time (with the money earned from drug dealing) contributing to a major funding for a hospital in Harlem, his neighborhood. Old and new enemies, competitors, the police, will throw obstacles in his way. A film with deliberately dark tones, characteristic of the director's style, I honestly find it boring and unremarkable, unless you are truly a huge fan of the genre (I am not). more
Neil Young & Crazy Horse -Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
The beginning of Neil Young's masterpieces. Starting from 1969, he will release a consecutive string of albums, each more spectacular than the last. more
Tom Waits -Blue Valentine
Moving, yet at the same time experimental, as if foretelling Swordfishtrombones. Majestic. more
Neil Young -Tonight's the Night
Another wonder from Neil, who delivers a dark yet delicate album... hats off. more
Neil Young -Rust Never Sleeps
Neil Young delivers one of the best live performances ever and wraps up that magnificent decade adorned with nothing but masterpieces... more

Piero Ciampi
I consider him among the greatest; his art arises from discomfort, from the love he idealized but never received, simply for his being, from the inner pain when you hit rock bottom and feel like crap. Poetry and wine, skipping meals for a glass, waking up in an alley, the search for love but realizing you're not fit to live like others, only because you have a sensitivity that rejects conventions and prefers free drifting, even to extreme consequences. I consider him one of the greatest poets, a singer of life, of rejection, of freedom. A man to love. more
Neil Young -On The Beach
Oh well... another immense masterpiece by Neil Young. Revolution Blues is immortal. more
R.e.m. -New Adventures in Hi-fi
Without taking anything away from the marvelous saga of IRS, the poignant Automatic for the People, and all their other beautiful creations, time and again, when it comes to R.E.M., this is the masterpiece of their discography, the peak of their journey. One might argue that perhaps something could have been left out, that it has an excessive duration, but it certainly also holds a symbolic significance for many reasons, not least because it is the last with the complete lineup featuring Bill Berry. This album truly represents the summa and the best of every phase they have gone through. (...) more
Hey Colossus -Radio Static High
I can't understand where they want to go with this. An album where confusion reigns supreme. They probably want to somehow emulate the mad genius of a band like Clinic, but - assuming that's the case - we are far from achieving a result even remotely close to what they are aiming for. more
Lana Del Rey
Class. It has nothing to do with the cheesy and fake pop mash-up of recent years. Take off your blinders; something good does emerge even in this era. more
The KVB -Of Desire
It's their best album. The UK duo made up of Nicholas Wood and Kat Day finally reaches a mature dimension with this record. The sounds of their songs are less jagged than in the past. The electronic atmospheres and references to a certain dark wave remain, but the composition is overall less rigid, making the album and the band's sound more accessible to a wider audience. An upgrade that I believe is fundamentally due to experience, but who knows, perhaps a desire to try to be more easy-listening has also played a part, especially after their experiences at major and hyped festivals like Primavera. Mastered by Sonic Boom for its 'spatial' quality.

The Psychedelic Schafferson Jetplane -The Psychedelic Schafferson Jetplane
It would be enough to quote Anton Newcombe, 'I think it’s one of the best psychedelic blues records ever.' Debut album of the band released in 2010 and subject to various reissues over the years. A great psychedelic rock record with a vintage flavor, but not only that. Notable is the wonderful groove of the bass lines and some kraut influences ('Grio's Wisdom'), which is always a plus. Beautiful.
