A politician belonging to that generation of "rais" who were followed by Gaddafi, Assad Sr., Mubarak & company, who "de facto" managed authoritarian regimes of an Islamic nature with a warlike spirit displayed on various occasions (in his case, the tragic and brutal decade-long war against Iran, which resulted in a tremendous number of deaths and ambushes against civilians, including the infamous massacre by gas), criticized for many years by the international community, after yet another belligerent act, this time against Kuwait, which plays a fundamental role in the Middle Eastern chessboard, those who were once his allies (we remember that he was reassured at dawn of the anticipated attack by members of the government staff, even with a meeting in Baghdad) suddenly turned their guns on him, intervening with a massive coalition in the first Gulf War, where he was literally swept away (militarily speaking). After the first trick played by Bush Sr., the (unfortunately) nonsensical intervention of Bush Jr. followed, which we all remember... just as we remember from there on all that series of events that led to today’s crisis, ending in the usual way the US then uses to dispose of other "uncomfortable" figures. If we are to evaluate him from a moral standpoint, he is a nefarious and bellicose character; however, if we are to assess the behavior of the Americans, it reveals an unlimited hypocrisy. more

A historical figure among the most "obscure" of all time, who combined an incredible and ruthless vocation for eliminating anyone around him due to paranoia, obsession, and various jealousies with tactical intelligence and a long-desired expansionist mania that ultimately favored his undisputed rise to world leader. Seeing him as the chubby, mustached man smiling as he embraced little girls during the rallies dedicated to Lenin and his figure (the only ones "de facto" permitted, along with "master" Marx), and then imagining that during his days he spent hours signing letters condemning hundreds of thousands of people to the scourge, or to die frozen in remote locations of the vast Soviet empire, well, it makes you think... more

He has the same ability as Berlusconi to attract immense hatred, and I have to say that at times he reminds me of the knight in certain behaviors, primarily the fact of promising reforms following scandals related to his party in order to "make amends," something that his predecessor did cyclically. more
