Marco Pernice -Strawman
In 1989, New York, a masterpiece album by Lou Reed, was released, full of controversies, names and surnames of the Big Apple at the end of the 80s, the roaring years.
Marco Pernice decided to pay homage to one of his favorite artists by reinterpreting the most rock track from that iconic record.
Strawman is a song with social and political content, featuring Reed's explicit and mysterious lyrics.

"If I had to define my musical genre I keep saying that it is a crossover, or contamination, a fusion between apparently distant cultures but that if they come together they can give life to something new (basically all life is research)."

After years of concerts, publications, and collaborations, Marco Pernice produces electro, funk music, with rock / blues contaminations. It is his new dimension: songs like DJ KILLER, THE ELECTRIC POPE, ALIEN, MR PRESIDENT, FUNK U,

MY MIND, NO FUNKY DOWN, GEMINI, FIRE, TELL ME BABY, IT'S GOOD INSIDE, YOU KNOW IT, WELCOME TO THE SHOW, THE SHOCK, NO PRESSURE FOR US, NARCISSISTIC WOMAN, ROCKMARY are now hits in the international indie radio circuit, and entered various official indie rankings such as "Radio Indie Alliance," "Earone," "Classifica Indie (Italy)," "Euro Indie Music Chart," "iTunes," "Amazon," "Ethnocloud.com" as well as rankings of individual stations.

There are more and more radio shows and podcasts in which Marco Pernice is a guest with his music. The single THE SHOCK is #5 in the top 10 best songs of 2024 on Only Rock Radio (Spain).

Pernice grew up musically listening to great musicians like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Vernon Reid and people like that, working as a radio speaker and guitar teacher. In 2005 he followed an internship with the American guitarist Mike Stern (among the many collaborations: Miles Davis, Jaco Pastorius, Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, Dave Weckl). more
Matteo Becucci
He has only one flaw (extramusical): he loves rowing races. Never well tolerated back in the '90s-2000s, mainly because here in Etruria these gatherings involve among the spectators the illiterate Funzionali mobs and the worst troublemakers along the entire coast (you could scarcely speak with anyone to understand each other).
I find them with many of my anti-ecological friends, boring and unproductive across all lines, even inadequate to revive the culture of Fair Play among school-aged kids! On that note, as a dear friend of mine from Castiglioncello says, in the "great" and heavily polluted city of Becucci (four out of five in my overall judgment)... maremmabbioccona, after 60 years it’s high time to lower a much-deserved multi-decade curtain and seriously focus on the sailing world, which seems a bit more organized for good. more

Musically Frasando, I like it 4.5 stars, This Female is almost in Third Aging. Do Under 30s snub her? Better, that way The Quality remains Untouched, just ignoring (or forgiving, we will see) a couple of Chilling Collaborations with ultra-commercial radios. more

In the beginning with the Dogo Gang and until 13 years ago it was bearable, much like don Ax (!) his early solo stuff up to "Vecchia Scuola." His swan song was Sabbie Mobili, just for the record. Now stylistically you can't tell him apart from Inoki (known thanks to my ex-brother-in-law) or from the worst, populist Fibra, and as an aggravating factor, he calls himself Hip hop King...but come on f f f fan-Crew-Lo, you and those who download your "songs" (for those who actually have your records in flesh and blood and are satisfied with them, I can only say these "four" little words: Make Clamorously Hyper-Sorrow). Rating 1.5 rounded down. more
Fratello Metallo
To me, this seems like the Third Cousin Conventual of Domenico Bini. On all fronts! But I won't give him "1 point and that's it" because, firstly, he managed to extract a good, hearty laugh from my jugular knot during the overall crappiest years of my existence, and secondly, because he has always kept himself away from that farce that has (over time) become the concert on May 1st. more

Someone who writes a song like "Aida" doesn't deserve 5 stars? But have you ever listened to it, have you ever caught all the textual references? Or part 2, that is "Scusa Mary"? For me, one of the truest, most original, and courageous Italian artists, often underestimated because he is very popular among young people and marketed as a minstrel of commercial parties. more

When this album was released, I was just a child, but there must be something in the music that leaves an indelible imprint on each of us. If I have developed such open musical tastes for multiethnic sounds, I owe it primarily to this record. Essential. more
