Funny not to see any comments on this guitarist while there are avalanches of them on legendary hard-rock guitarists. Great players, of course, but they all get downplayed once you hear someone like Ranaldo. Lee is like a Fripp or a Shields: someone who didnā€™t write riffs or songs, but who put together a real "sound project," and once you realize what he has done, like with the other two mentioned, youā€™re left in shock. In short: a fucking genius of the electric guitar. more

Nice site, the only flaw is that, while there are competent and polite people, there's also a sea of assholes who think they're cultured and spew judgments left and right believing they have the truth in their pocket. Like j&r, just because you listen to classical music doesn't mean you're a better person; I listen to it too, but there's more out there, wake up, certain people make me break out in hives. Classical may be the most "elevated" music, but that doesnā€™t mean the rest is crap, for Christ's sake. more

Perfect in Blues, Jazz, and Folk with This Was (which is very, veeeery Jazz! Listen to it all very attentively!) and Stand Up; in Hard Rock with Aqualung and War Child and in Prog with Benefit, A Passion Play, Living In The Past, and especially Thick As A Brick, which for me is the archetypal Prog composition. An absolute genius as a flutist and Folk guitarist, and two extraordinary and ABSOLUTELY underrated lead guitarists (Abrahams first, then Barre). Is that enough? No, there are also the lyrics.
