Great debut for the two singer-songwriters from Rome. The best of De Gregori was still to come; here he doesn't shine too much (although "Signora aquilone" and "Dolce signora che bruci" are both stunning tracks), while Venditti already proves to be more than an excellent singer-songwriter, with indelible gems like the famous "Roma capoccia" and the poignant "Sora Rosa," both written at the age of 14. more
Quite primitive. A good record. more
The non-music from across the ocean (come on, at least you’ll enjoy Brit 1 or 2); the 360° opportunism of Black-tone declined to today's Business; the mainstay of trash in a creolized sauce; a D-list Pausini duetting with the greatest artistic traitor of all time: a singer whose group starts with C, and whose name is not Steve; a categorical, stratospheric insult in multi-channels to dance (the traditional one), meditation, poetry, or just to those who make hard analysis of disparities, the lifeblood of crime, the rhetoric of fake followers of a cleric who uses God long before venerating Him, of the various addictions that ruin lives and tarnish communities, of the media rot that leads us to bully individuals that it is an understatement to say are innocent, of the power wielded by those who command the banks and the internal slave trades made Riders, of the trivialization of a viral pandemic like the one we are experiencing right now; (back to B.K.) one of the most influential gay icons along with Pinx and Rihanna, and don’t read it in a homophobic key: it’s a naked truth. I will conclude. The thirty-nine-year-old fur-clad woman from Houston who does not turn a blind eye to those with problems, with a child who will learn only one lesson from her: get suckled, eat, drain, and flee! more
Underrated work, but excellent as far as I'm concerned. The best of the 85-89 trilogy, with arrangements that aren't too pompous (unlike the subsequent one) and no filler tracks (unlike the previous one). "I matti," "Mimì sarà," and "Pane e castagne" are the standout tracks. 4.5 more
When Venditti was still being listened to, when Venditti was still offering us real music, rather than "Unica," "Ogni volta," or similar nonsense from the last thirty years... an album with great soul. It's just a shame about the rather unfortunate arrangements, which prevent it from getting a 5, but the songs themselves are stunning. 4.5 more
Multinstrumentalist and producer from São Paulo, among his numerous projects is the famous indie-electro band Cansei de Ser Sexy (CSS). more
After the album's release, this video started circulating on Videomusic, and I finally saw my heroes! In a forest among the shadows, an eclipse, a knight, a face, a voice... everything very mysterious, beautiful! The greatness of this piece is already evident from the long and unusual guitar intro, which then transforms into a beautiful solo by Peter Koppes... who has a touch and phrasing that's always very captivating... without words, the piece leaves you speechless because when it ends, you say... what the hell is this!!!?? But where do they come from, Mars!? more
You don't know if it's bells or guitars or maybe both together telling us that something is happening in the "Fields of Mars"....the bass presses, the guitars respond, shining like the stars above......then the solo starts, first calm and reassuring but then almost screaming.....tum tum tum... Ploog replies.....and in the end, reverberated sounds close this gem. more
After Ploog's introduction (whom I admire as a drummer), a real battle breaks out with guitar riffs! Marty and Peter go at it tooth and nail, striking blows like masters of the six strings; at times it feels like falling down the stairs of the glorious altar of “neo-psychedelic,” a term that will resonate strongly in these years... epic! more
Heard for the first time on the radio in 1982, Radio Massarosa Sound during the evening show of my friend Fabrizio: I was immediately captivated! Twelve-string guitars with a compact, powerful sound that knocks you down with a single riff. The class act of this track is the solo with the classical guitar! A piece that charges you up like a spring! The “chiesa australiana” opens its doors and calls its faithful...... more
"Friday on my mind" is a song that remains thrilling to the ears to this day. more
Of the Roversiana triad, "Automobili" is the most beautiful, but this one is also marvelous. Perhaps a bit "difficult," but absolutely worth getting to know. Rating 4.5 for excess. more
Great album, probably the last of Edo's golden era, although the next two are still enjoyable. 4 stars. more
My 5 goes to their golden period. As for the movies, after "Tu la conosci Claudia?" they slightly fell into the mundane, although I didn't dislike their very latest film, quite the opposite. In theater, however, they are still colossal. more
Truly disgusting. I find some of his "songs" among the most excruciating tortures one could wish upon their worst enemy. It's a shame because he doesn't have a bad voice... more
Slightly better than some of his "peers" who came out of Amici, X-Factor, or various nonsense, but worse than many real artists. more
What a little bomb this is!
And like any self-respecting bomb, there's also a fuse here. The first 10 seconds. more
