Fabri Fibra
Almost believable with the first two albums. Crapped out and completely adrift for about fifteen years. 1.5 by default. more
Nina Zilli
Apart from the fact that musically it's terrible (actually, worse), I don't see all this coolness. Bah!... more
Franco Battiato -Fetus
"Exotomy, IBM-action, de-chloro-de-phenylketone, essedi-ethylation, have given birth to programming" more
Franco Battiato -Sulle Corde di Aries
Extraordinary record, but the previous "Pollution", as far as I'm concerned, is slightly better. From the following one until around '78, he won't get it right. more
Francesco De Gregori -Titanic
As far as I'm concerned, De Gregori's penultimate album is a masterpiece. Its peak marked in the 80s (along with the subsequent EP), containing wonderful gems: in addition to the more well-known title track, "Caterina" and "La leva calcistica...", also "Belli capelli" and the (alas) forgotten "San Lorenzo". A full 5. more
Renato Zero -Zerofobia
Among Renato's best albums, but not the best. In fact, "Mi vendo" is one of those big classics that could be a bit overplayed, but aside from that, there are excellent tracks, with "Vivo" and "Il cielo" standing out (the latter is also a classic, but it remains a beautiful song). 4.5 more
Paolo Conte -Un Gelato Al Limon
Zazzarazzazz... zazzarazzazz... more
Francesco De Gregori -Alice Non Lo Sa
A grand debut for the prince, clearly better than the previous "split" with Venditti. So poetic, yet at the same time so hermetic. Aside from the title track, which we all know well, there are other wonderful pieces like "Le strade di lei," "Saigon," "Buonanotte fratello," and "Marianna al bivio." Rating 9. more
Massimo Bubola
Great author and good musician. Too bad he's as likable as a lizard in your underwear. more
Lucio Dalla -Anidride Solforosa
Another masterpiece from the Dalla-Roversi duo, but the absolute peak will be reached with the next one. more
Timoria
They were truly giants. How sad to think about what Renga has become... more
Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers
Absolutely one of the best American bands (and songwriter) of all time. Great sound and great songs! more
Litfiba -El Diablo
Aside from the title track, "Proibito" and "Il volo," it doesn't seem like an exceptional album as I remembered. It will get slightly better with the next two, then goodbye Litfiba. more
Zucchero -Spirito DiVino
Perhaps Fornaciari's last great album, although the two that followed are still commendable. "Il volo" is among his top 5 works. more
Franco Battiato -L'ombrello e la macchina da cucire
Great debut for the Battiato-Sgalambro duo. Nice little record, with several excellent tracks, but to be honest, I find it one of the less powerful works of the philosophical phase. It will definitely get better with the next two. more
Marco Carta
Someone explain to me why this character is in the "artists" section. more
Domenico Modugno
The first true innovator of Italian music. I can even forgive him for things like "Piange il telefono." more
Marcello Mastroianni
A tuxedo, a cigarette, a pair of sunglasses, and the character would emerge. If only there were actors of this caliber today. more
Jack Nicholson
One of the few actors to have navigated the decades of Hollywood without ever losing his essence, remaining true to his character while developing it through the eyes of directors like Stanley Kubrick, Martin Scorsese, Roman Polanski, and Bob Rafelson. A few minor missteps in the 2000s, but as far as I'm concerned, he's made his mark in history and can smirk as much as he likes. more
Francesco De Gregori -Scacchi E Tarocchi
Listened to it again today. I remembered it being worse. There are some gems, starting with La storia and then moving on to Poeti per l'estate, A Pà, Scacchi e tarocchi, Ciao ciao, Tutti salvi. In short, a beautiful album that fully deserves its four stars. more
