The greatest animated film of all time. Let's save it from the bimbiminkia. Selick here solidifies himself (though under the protective wing of Burton) as one of the greatest animation directors ever. The characters (created by Burton) are stunning, the settings, the stop-motion, even the voice acting (10 and praise to Renato Zero). A masterpiece. more
the movie of my childhood, purely sentimental rating (the real one would be two points lower). more
A classic, very beautiful. A science fiction fairy tale, very well directed. One of Spielberg's last great films. more
Even the emotional bond with the Jurassic lizards cannot save this film from its mediocrity. Useless. more
The glories of the concerto grosso are very far away, with the exception of a couple of pieces. more
Technically a marvel for the eyes, this little gem from Tim Burton, although less enchanting than Nightmare Before, definitely stands out. One of the most successful animated films in recent years, it is very, very beautiful. more
The film is almost a masterpiece and yet, paradoxically, it is one of Kubrick's worst (this should illustrate the greatness of this director and the heights he has reached). A great, truly great film, with multiple layers of interpretation, incredibly powerful scenes, a stunning Kidman, and a Tom Cruise in one of his most convincing performances. Splendid direction and cinematography, and the ending is noteworthy. The excellent epitaph of one of the greatest directors in history. more
Raw and, in a certain sense, ruthless film, Pacino wonderfully embodies a hero of our times. The finest of the great Lumet. more

Not everyone can debut with a double concept album sung in an invented language. 8.5 for one of the boldest debuts ever. more
