Afterhours -Germi
I have always snubbed the Afterhours for a long time. After listening to Germi, I was left in the dust for a week. more
Federico Stragà
federico STRACAZZ! "astronaut" is heavily plagiarized from the specials, "cigno macigno" was in a compilation from the summer of 2001, let's say it was passable, "volere volare" with anna tatangelo doesn't make it fly at all, and its rating stays a solid 1. more
Come è profondo il mare
Always nice to be rocked by certain melodies 😌💤 more
Ivano Fossati -Lindbergh (Lettere da sopra la pioggia)
Third absolute masterpiece in a row for Ivano, but for my personal taste, I slightly prefer "La pianta del tè" and "La disciplina della terra." Nevertheless, 40 minutes of pure poetry (as always, after all), especially "Notturno delle tre" and "Mio fratello che guardi il mondo." more
pino daniele -il mio nome è pino daniele e vivo qui
The title speaks for itself. ODOR DE CAGOTTO more
Kurt Weill
Among the candidates for the title of "greatest songwriter of the 20th century." And only God knows how much rock and "cursed" singer-songwriter tradition it has inspired... more
Mino Reitano
Thissss sooonngggg Iiii sing it to youuuuuu! more
Giovanni Allevi
But is there really anyone who has the courage to call it "classical music"? Unfortunately, DeBaser doesn't allow me to give a zero, so I'm forced to give it a generous one. more
Roberto Vecchioni -Ippopotami
Perhaps the professor's worst album. I would only save "Indiscreto" and a bit of the lyrics from the title track; the rest are either filler or leftovers from previous albums. The cover is truly horrible, especially when compared to the (wonderful) ones from the previous records. 1.5 rounded up to 2. more
Punisher
Wandering here and there, I found a place where they were talking about this site. It seems there’s a Cabal of dark characters whose aim is to steer the dull-witted masses towards a goal. (Listening to garbage music?) The Guy went on for a page packed with accusations; apparently, getting out of this site is worse than leaving Scientology, and to that end, he teaches, in another half-page, how to do it without causing harm to things or people. I'm flabbergasted. I would like to know from you, old foxes who have been hanging around this site for a while, if there’s any truth to this. Who makes up the Cabal? Who are these influencers? And why do they exist? Thank you. (I hope I haven't fallen into a trap :))) more
The Bugs Henderson Group -At Last
I sold this CD the other day. Before shipping it, I listened to it.... I regretted selling it. more
Marco Masini
I ran into him this morning at the café. He’s not exactly a beauty, with that hipster beard... but he was wearing a mask with the Florentine lily. At least from the muck, flowers grow. more
Roberto Vecchioni -Il Grande Sogno
The cover is extraordinary; I bought it years ago on vinyl and CD almost just for that! The record is quite nice, but overall, nothing special. I definitely prefer Vecchioni 75-82. more
Rino Gaetano
It's hard for me to evaluate him. He has released six of the most unique albums in Italy in less than a decade and then left like someone at a party who gets bored and leaves without even saying goodbye. This singer, in his own way, is unclassifiable, and I have no intention of labeling him like a supermarket product (but I'm forced to give a rating, so...) more
Lucio Dalla -Viaggi Organizzati
The album that marks, at least for me, the end of Lucio's golden era. This and the previous "1983" are two perfect dividing lines between the "old" Dalla (71-81) and the "new" Dalla (86-09). Malavasi, starting from this point onward, will increasingly operate in the electronic realm, bringing a refined tecno-pop that is in step with the times but not always palatable to everyone and, to be honest, it doesn’t sweep me off my feet either. I still remain firmly attached to Dalla 71-81, but even this one remains an excellent album. Lyrics that are still fully Dalla's, with standouts like "Toro," "Aquila," "Washington," and the title track. Between 4 and 4.5. more
Pooh -Parsifal
The Poohffi you don't expect... more
Samuele Bersani
Huge gap between him and many of his peers. Good composer but above all a great lyricist, perhaps the best currently in Italy. more
KISS
Some nice pieces, but for the rest, a lot of tackiness and self-celebration. If it weren't for that clownish costume nonsense, they would all be out picking melons... more
Queen
I never understood all this success, even among the connoisseurs. They didn't invent anything, and Bohemian Rhapsody is an experiment that was heard at least a decade prior. If it weren't for Mercury, nobody would pay them any attention. more
Bob Dylan -Rough and Rowdy Ways
you made me rush to listen to "I’ve Made Up My Mind to Give Myself to You"
this is what a good critic should do, entice people. and you succeeded, even though with me you're preaching to the choir because I love Bob Dylan - let’s extract the time and the duets with the unbearably boring Joan Baez, recently performed in my city. (double GULP!...) more
