Fantastic in the first three seasons, a drop in the fourth, a resurgence in the fifth, another decline in the sixth. I'm hoping for a big comeback in the seventh. more

Mina
Out of curiosity, I check the ranking of the best singers ever and I see Mina at 43rd place and I don't see Amy. I close the ranking. I close DeBaser and go to sleep. more
Ian Gillan
If there were a ranking of the most underrated artists in history, he would undoubtedly come in first. I fell in love with him through Made in Japan in 1972 and I haven't been able to prefer anyone else since. The only ones who can challenge his title of best singer and performer are Freddie and Amy, and we're talking about aliens from distant planets. Everyone else, as much as they are legends in their own right, can only come up to Ian's knees. more

Mina
If we criticize Mina, then we save no one. She, who has interpreted and made many of the most beautiful Italian songs her own, has no other colleague who boasts a similar number of musical emblems. From the whole decade of the sixties, to the songs written for her by Battisti in the early seventies, to the wonderful "Ancora Ancora Ancora" of '78, then through the eighties with less notable albums but always of quality and infinite class. She gave her best in the pieces specifically written for her, but she erred in presumption by wanting to redo songs recorded by others that are irreplaceable, like those of the Beatles. Songs that are always well-crafted in arrangements and in the choice of musicians. And what to say about Mina herself? The most sensual and representative voice of Italian pop music. A character full of herself, yet very self-aware and of above-average intelligence. She retired following the example of Battisti, whom she considered the greatest of all. She spared herself a ridiculous pension like those of old television mummies, now caricatures of themselves. She has been releasing records for almost seventy years; perhaps, however, in her case, the individual songs are more important than the entire albums. Verse-bridge in crescendo-explosive chorus —> unbeatable. Ladies and gentlemen, the Tiger of Cremona: Mina. more

Cesare Cremonini
Excellent among those he wrote are Marmellata n°25, Cercando Camilla, and IjPagliaccio, which at the time were well-directed towards the "character" Cav and now can widely be attributed for various reasons to Tajani-Bonaccini-Fassino (the first of a long list, editor's note). The other "things" from our national Cesare, listened to again today, do not excite me at all, although one must acknowledge an evolution in writing and a decent interpretative sensitivity in the covers, of which the "Popolo fattosi Massa Informe" consistently has no memory. more

Il Festival di Sanremo
For completeness, we would need the final report card of the recently vanished, Festivalz(zzz), but perhaps the users of this site didn’t need another sesquilinear avalanche of trivia and frivolities with the punctual, rare flashes of contrasting wisdom delivered at a late hour, serving only to induce yawns in the well-to-do, respectable, sycophantic audience of this Cazzillajo. more
