The most successful piece of the bunch without a shadow of a doubt. The arpeggio is truly well done. more
Beautifully structured musical base. The piece itself...meh. more
Nothing special, just a few little flashes in 3 minutes of cosmic emptiness. more
A decent and captivating piece. Quite successful. more

I will need to dedicate more time to it than expected. There are tracks I love like the opening Il mio malditesta, Fuori dal tempo, Oggi hai parlato troppo, Il nucleo, Altre forme di vite, Ideaplatonica, Miscugli, and So low. So we have 8 tracks at high levels of excellence, of which at least half are masterpieces, and the rest? The rest swings between wonderfully enjoyable rock pieces like Vertigoblu and good ballads like Troppe emozioni and Cieli neri. It’s not a Madonna-level album; it still lacks something to be defined as such, but it’s fabulous. more
Among the 10 best Italian albums of all time. There are no words to describe it, it’s 46 minutes of absolute perfection, but not a uniform perfection; a perfection that ranges from the most exhilarating tracks (Princesa, Dolcenera) to the more playful ones (A cumbà, le acciughe fanno il pallone), and especially with impeccable songs that give you goosebumps (Anime Salve, Khorakane, Smisurata preghiera, Disamistade). more
The draft at its worst. more
Unpredictable and brilliant inventor. Talented and beautiful. more
Let the challenge begin. more
but yes, a meager pass is all right, especially for the second side which, excluding “in fondo alla boccia” and “l’esercito delle forchette,” is full of great tracks, shooting me down on all of them. it’s just a shame about the first side, which is markedly inferior (only “goccia a goccia” manages to save it) and has some truly, truly awful tracks (like “regina di cuori” and the first pathetic version of “ritmo...”) more
"Could it be that our Vinicione has been a bit overrated?" No, absolutely not. Okay, it takes inspiration from Waits, if not to say that sometimes it's a copycat, but that's no reason to belittle it. Canzoni a manovella and Ovunque proteggi are two of the most beautiful albums ever produced in Italy and among the 5 most beautiful albums of the millennium (at least up to now). Even in episodes like the debut from '90 or Il ballo di San Vito, it manages to deliver a quartet of wonderful songs. more
