Darkthrone -Transilvanian Hunger
Masterpiece with an incredible atmosphere: minimal, dark, mysterious, one of the highest peaks of the genre. An album whose depth has rarely been matched by other black metal bands! more
Converge -Jane Doe
An engaging and intense album in many of its parts, as only this genre can be! more
Carcass -Necroticism: Descanting the Insalubrious
The masterpiece of Carcass! A sprinkle of grind and on top of that add a death with a thousand tempo changes. Unfortunately, this description cannot convey the beauty of this album in the slightest! A colossus of extreme metal! more
Blind Guardian -Imaginations From The Other Side
Nice! Not the masterpiece that everyone claims it to be (that’s Nightfall), but certainly an original album made by a band that said something new in metal and moved away from the worn-out clichés of power. more
Anathema -A Natural Disaster
I was a bit disappointed by the album (compared to their very high standards), especially in the more intense tracks that feel out of place. Even the final "violence," despite being beautiful and lasting 10 minutes, gets a bit tedious in the fast parts. Yet, the rest is always filled with great class and moving melodies; however, the best song is the title track, sung by a female voice that evokes Portishead. 3.5 rounded up to 4. more
Alice Cooper -Raise Your Fist And Yell
What would come out if Alice Cooper decided to make a pure heavy metal album? The answer is "Raise your fist and yell," beautiful, dark, atmospheric, and ahead of more renowned heavy metal bands. Prince of darkness also features in the soundtrack of my favorite horror film, "il signore del male" by Carpenter. more
Alice Cooper -Welcome To My Nightmare
A bit overrated. There are certainly remarkable pieces like the title track, for instance, or one of his best ballads "only women bleed," but the rock energy of the early days is somewhat toned down here, and everything feels a bit contrived. Nice but not a masterpiece; Alice Cooper has done better. 3.5 more
Alice Cooper -Billion Dollar Babies
The best of Alice Cooper, every song a potential hit! more
