Ennio Morricone
Sublime for soundtracks. It makes no sense to compare it to the greats of classical music. Rip (1928-2020). Definition updated as of today, July 6, 2020. more

Lately it has improved a bit, to be honest. However, we are still below the level of an Antonacci and a Ramazzotti. If I give Biagio and Eros 2 stars, I give him 1 star. He is a singer whose absence I wouldn’t have missed at all. I only save "La storia del mondo" in a sea of sugary, predictable pop that can only be listened to in the car when it happens, but nothing more. more
Smashing Pumpkins -Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
my favorite album, an absolute masterpiece more
Antonello Venditti
The vote is for the '70s and '80s, completely untouched by the decline of inspiration since 1991. In the '70s, among the greatest! more
Max Pezzali
I disgust you. more
Rollins Band
An imposing and furious group thanks to the charisma of Henry Rollins; live, destabilizing: an explosion of blind violence that left no escape... The End of Silence... more
Gerry Scotti
I don't think even his son eats Scotti rice, who has the silhouette of a wall closet. more
PJ Harvey -Dry
A fantastic debut for Harvey. 5 stars might be a bit generous, but I'm happy to round up to the maximum, especially in light of that masterpiece known as "Plants and Rags." A lively and gritty album, the trio of Harvey-Vaughan-Ellis really delivers. Compared to the follow-up, this one has the "merit" of resonating with me a bit more overall. Wonderful. more
Isis -Panopticon
It has been ten years since this third album for the Boston band; and the compositional zenith is finally reached, without detracting from its predecessors "Oceanic" and "Celestial." There are seven lengthy tracks that flow through the listening experience, where violent electric outbursts and solemn atmospheric passages coexist and progress hand in hand, bestowing fascinatingly opposite sensations: tension, emotion, anger. Hypnotic, ethereal, and evocative tracks like "In Fiction" with its gradual final build-up... more
DJ Francesco
One, because he is Roby's son and because he got the most beautiful ones! Otherwise, 0. more
Sergio Endrigo
Old-school singer-songwriter, simple, genuine, immense. 4 not quite full, but definitely more than 3. more
Max Pezzali
"They killed Spider-Man" is a great opening, and the next three hold up well. Since 1999, it has fluctuated between the craft and some genuinely successful songs. more
Maurizio Costanzo
A great character and person, he was a big deal in the '70s and '80s. Then he got involved with De Filippi, but the segments he curated in her shows never fell into trash. The credit goes to his golden era. Whether you have a membership or not, he is a good journalist, humane and intelligent. more
Gerry Scotti
Exceptional person. One of us. more
Lloyd Cole and the Commotions
A sadly short career, with three albums released in the eighties; delightful pop songs, where the brilliance of compositional elegance was a shining characteristic... Are you ready to have your heart pierced?… more
Fishbone
They come from Los Angeles, California; their sound is a crossover that navigates through reggae, ska, soul, metal, funk-rock. All seasoned with an overdose of healthy fun; "The Reality Of My Surroundings" the most e-saltante album... Black Power... more
Antimatter -Saviour
It's the debut album of the band formed by Michael Moss and Duncan Patterson, the unforgettable bassist of Anathema. A profound, intimate music that combines electronics and ambient through a series of songs that captivate you, leaving you struck by their sacred and simple beauty; a pinnacle reached by "Over Your Shoulder" where everything is amplified by the voice of Michelle Richfield, transporting you on a spiritual journey, projecting you into the infinite... Angelic... more
The Who -the who By Numbers
A charming little record, melancholic, a great epitaph for one of the greatest bands in history, albeit a notch below their masterpieces. "Imagine a Man," "They are all in Love," and "Blue, Red and Grey" are nice tracks. 3.5 balloons, happily rounded up to 4. more
Oasis
Good band, fully sufficient. What would the Beatles have been like in the '90s if we assume a decline in quality? more
Baustelle
Better than crap, but you have to see how much less of Art. more
