Besides the technical and creative qualities that we all acknowledge (or not?), hats off for having turned down the Rolling Stones. more

Paranoid delusions of a singer of apocalyptic and morbid visions, metaphors of the darkest and most hidden tunnels of the psyche, fear and madness rise swiftly from the depths of the irrational abyss we thought would never surface, only to emerge and unleash all their annihilating potential. more
fundamental. I would say that in 3 CDs there's all the American hardcore. It goes up to 2002, but five stars is even too little. From Fugazi to Slant 6 (!), a must-have. more
I have always preferred Mudhoney and Soundgarden (as well as Pearl Jam and Nirvana), without ever understanding the true reason. Layne's dramatic, heart-wrenching voice remains unmatched, just like their Unplugged...Down In A Hole... more
The Dutch band reaches a turning point with this work, unexpectedly; after their previous two albums, "Mandylion" and "Nighttime Birds", clearly marked by a Gothic Metal style, they courageously decide to change course. Thus arriving at a double album where the sound is an enchanting Progressive Rock, with psychedelic inserts of mesmerizing quality; long, reflective songs, tranquil in their sinuous, harmonious flow. "Great Ocean Road," "Rescue Me," "Travel"; up to the endless title track... ASTRALI... more

Those who hum "Aum Trayambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam Urva Rukamiva Bandhanaan Mrityor Mokshiye Maamritat" are probably due to the illogical amounts of THC absorbed over the years. more

As a rather lukewarm listener towards de André, but a lover of this particular album, I've noticed something over the years. In my opinion, the innovations it contains have not yet been fully grasped. The die-hard de André fans I know consider him "ahead" simply because it’s sung in dialect. Nobody mentions that he is ahead for the work done on the sound of the words, because this time he wanted to communicate more through their sound than through their meaning. more

I don't like it, I prefer Molinari. more
It is the latest album from the Dutch band where one can admire, captivated, the voice of Anneke; their sound, always in constant evolution, has completely abandoned the Gothic Metal of their early compelling works, thus arriving at a form of warm, enveloping, visionary Cosmic Trip Rock. The pairing "Alone" "Waking Hour" has the sacred power to instill sensations of ecstasy, of peace in the listener: moving us once again. A worthy and unique band... more

A project born from the mind of Bill Steer at the end of the nineties, after the temporary end of Carcass; a music that perhaps one wouldn't expect from one of the godfathers of Grindcore and Death Metal: an excellent Hard-Rock-Blues that looks to the past, with Bill's crystalline voice, in stark contrast to the primordial Growl he used in his groundbreaking band. more
