Leone di Lernia would have said "O Signur, ma che disperasiun...."
Yeah. Everyone was expecting an unreleased album after "X" of 2002, but instead, Def Leppard made a cover album. Album dated 2006 with the guitar duo Collen & Campbell, Joe Elliott on vocals, the legendary Rick Allen on drums, and the ever-present Rick Savage on bass.
It's not exactly a marvel, but some tracks are well executed. Great performance with a track by "T-Rex" - 20th Century Boy.
Beautiful track by "Electric Light Orchestra" - 10538 Overture - well, it was beautiful even in the original version by "ELO".
Then there are the covers by "Roxy Music" - Street Life - and "Free" - Little Bit of Love, which are quite good.
The piece by "Thin Lizzy" - Don't Believe a Word - requires a better listen, even though it doesn't fully satisfy me.
In the piece by "Faces" - Stay with Me - there's even an imitation of the great Rod Stewart's singing. Sure, Joe Elliott could have put a bit more of himself into it.
The rest is pretty flat. Especially the vocal part. A pity. DL had accustomed us to a completely different sound.
For those who have never listened to Def Leppard, dust off "Pyromania" (1983), "Hysteria" (1987), and "Adrenalize" (1992)
Or blast "Hello America" from 1980 at full volume.
