Fantastic Guys!!! "Trading Pieces" is the title of the album by this American trio, Trading Pieces... pieces of what? Of John Coltrane brutally shredded by this avant-garde CD, which offers an absolutely innovative death metal, not even Pink Floyd dared this much in the history of brutal jazz.

It all starts with "Carnivorous Ways" and you immediately realize that you're dealing with a CD that leads to "Carnivorous Ways" eardrum-drilling, a CD always underestimated by David Gilmour, but even he admits over time to have always been in love with this disc. Rumor has it that one day, while listening to this first track, he started growling and blood burst out from his eyes and ears...

Then comes "Born the Torn Apart" and you realize that Metal truly reigns supreme in the music of all time, it's clear, it's evident that the guitarist was a fan of jazz music (of John Coltrane), manages to unleash bone-crushing riffs, you reflect, you realize that in life, brutal is all you've ever desired since the dawn of time, even Gilmour did not accept it... and yet...

And here comes the title track, then "Hunting Human Beings", a track that speaks to the vengeful hearts of this world, who has never thought of killing human beings after hearing the melodic screams of Coltrane, everyone knows that hatred rises and the desire to hunt the human being is there speaking to you... the heart knows... and let me remind you of the drummers' relentless beats in the tracks "Impious Offering" and "Acid Troops", in my opinion the most devastating tracks (due to bass strumblings with jazz influences) ... you look up to the sky thanking creation for this music powerful to the ear and Gentle for the soul...

Meanwhile, the tracks "Pieces of Flesh" and "Erected on Poles" have already arrived, not to mention "Pieces in the Shower"... the CD closes with the track "Blasted".

PULVERIZED by this CD, I repeat, underestimated for its impeccable production (if I'm not mistaken, the same record label as Dream Theater) sometimes misunderstood by jazz musicians, due to an extremely nasty sound sought and desired by Erick Lindmark, but effective in every way, especially for the depth of brutal lyrics, Jacoby's splendid voice, Erick's growl, the two voices alternating in a pressing rhythm that leaves no room for thoughts, there is only the BRUTALITY of the sound... and you realize it was worth spending 29:57 minutes with your new friends...

Take that, 50s.
