The Decrepit Birth band arrives with their first work featuring Tim Young (former Hate Eternal drummer).
The style offered is brutal death played in typical '90s fashion. Technique, power, extremely aggressive vocals... and then... nothing! After continuous listens to this CD, one can only arrive at these meager statements.
It's unfortunate how bands like this manage to squander their abilities. Superhuman drumming that sounds like it's played with four arms and four feet, guitar and bass chasing each other in always different patterns at crazy speeds, with sudden and continuous time changes.
The only songs I can truly appreciate are the opener "Prelude To The Apocalypse," maximum aggressiveness (like the rest of the album), and "Of Genocide," a song with a slow, hammering rhythm besides its sharp and gritty guitar.
Unfortunately, I can't evaluate a product positively for two "nice" songs.
The remaining songs are crushing but monotonous and without any kind of connection either within themselves or between each other. This is the pursuit of too much ingenuity, resulting in an outcome that is not entirely sufficient.
