It's incredible how a band like Debauchery can waste all their potential with this album...

These German Death Metallers are faithful to a certain type of Death Metal with slow rhythms indebted to bands like Six Feet Under (Oh My God!!! I really can't stand them even if they are Barnes' band), in short, a proposition that could be appealing but the absurdity of the compositions manages to ruin everything, even the most interesting elements, all of which makes this album an impossible meal to digest.

First of all, the riffing is not inspired, the riffs that run through the songs on this album are almost all the same or have the same unique absurdity typical of the latest Six Feet Under, the drum rhythms are slow, in fact, apart from the beginning of the killer-song I Will Rape And Murder, the blast beats do not exist and often the drummer indulges in simple and repetitive rhythms that develop the listener's drowsiness, the bass gets hidden by the poor guitar work, the vocalist alternates a perhaps somewhat monotonous but fairly decent growling with screaming that at various points borders on the absurd (Chainsaw Masturbation).

The lyrics, of course, are based on gore and splatter themes, not very interesting topics that are accompanied by music that has little to say, even though the band has potential as shown by the excellent melodies of some compositions like the title track and the beautiful Take My Pain, almost melancholic, which unfortunately remains an oasis in a deserted wasteland, a special mention goes to the good I Will Rape And Murder, a song with fast and brutal rhythms.

In conclusion, Debauchery can do much better, with this album they have shown that they still need to improve a lot if they want a place in the international scene, but the prerequisites to have all this are there, we will see how the path of this band will develop, for now, the rating of this album can only be a 2...
