THE REVIEW

Deathbound is the name of the project involving Robert Sundelin (Satariel), Nick Sundqvist (Necronomicon), Mikael Sandorf (Gates Of Ishtar), Blastmor (Thyrane), and Q (Rotten Sound).
It's an album like many others, but damn (censored) how freaking hard (censored) these guys hit!
After various demos and lineup changes, the group stabilized and joined forces to bring this "To Cure The Sane With Insanity" to life. Canonical and ruthless brutal death united with black metal, with frequent hardcore pieces that occasionally serve to diversify the sound a bit and give a moment of respite.
As I mentioned, the band has Q behind the drums, who is a human cannon, never stops, and gives a big hand in making the tracks much more effective given the merely adequate guitar work. The riffs are too classic and a bit predictable, but the work is excellent because they never fall into banality.
Nine direct songs that hit you and knock you down at the first listen. A few moments of pause (quite rarely) in just under thirty minutes of pure massacre. The production is excellent, and the sound has that slight touch of grittiness that's always welcome. Enjoyable.
