They began in '95 under the name Dead Elvis, which they used as the name for their first album in '97, once they renamed themselves Death in Vegas. They consist of a DJ from the legendary London club Heavenly Social and a BBC technician. From the first album, we highlight the single "Dirt". Then came "Contino Session", psychedelic and overwhelming, with excellent collaborations such as Bobbie Gillespie and Iggy Pop. The third album is this "Scorpio Rising", which aims to embark on a counter-tempo journey combining the 80s of Gary Numan and the 2000s of Oasis, with little brother Liam as a guest vocalist in the song that gives the album its title. A leap from Kraftwerk ("Natja") to Paul Weller (who sings in "So You Say You Lost Your Baby"). From My Bloody Valentine ("Diving Horses") to Dot Allison interwoven with Indian sounds in "Help Yourself". The leap from one song to another is sometimes too pronounced, to the point where you fear you might have inadvertently changed the album. Being eclectic is fine. But if you overdo it, it's hard to understand. Too fragmented.
