It was 1995, and thanks to Victory Records, Deadguy, guys from New Jersey with a passion for the most extreme noise, released a gem of an album known to most by the title "Fixation On A Coworker". A gem where noise rock, post-hardcore, and more collide, forming a massive wall of blood, tears, and muscles that everyone should bang their head against.
Take the typical desperation of Dimitri Minakakis, former voice of Dillinger Escape Plan, and combine it with the obsessive and claustrophobic atmospheres of Converge, Coalesce, and Human Remains... to all this, add a pinch of New York noise (Helmet) and a lot of healthy originality. It's difficult to describe the feelings you experience while listening to "Die With Your Mask On", with its schizophrenic-flavored guitar passages, or the concluding "Crazy Eddie", where "relaxed" arpeggiated parts ultimately exchange places with a voice that now has almost nothing human left.
Yes, it's difficult to describe this album... if you love the new Hardcore school and its typical desperation, make it yours, absolutely.
