The Dead Uns are born from the union of intentions of musicians raised in the Italian underground - with former members of Radio Shakedown, Bones Bag, While You Wait, and For Profit - all with the sole aim of expressing what they themselves love, punk-rock. A genre that is interpreted in "Cold Winds" in the "old-fashioned way," adding dark tones to each track of this EP of only five songs. A mini that will undoubtedly be appreciated by the most old-school among you, with sounds produced at the bare minimum and a grating voice that perfectly succeeds in creating the right scenario for what is effectively a work that is far from sunny. Because - as often happens in these cases - their lyrics are the core of this mini, where personal feelings and memories are precisely highlighted by vocal tones that have little in common with what we commonly find in punk-rock music, yet they manage to get stuck perfectly in your head. As one would logically expect, the Dead Uns are not here to invent anything new; their tracks are what we could define as the pure essence of punk-rock, with simple and intuitive guitar riffs that succeed in being appreciated over the long run. The move to choose a compact format like the EP is undoubtedly spot-on since all five tracks are of medium-high quality. A final note also for the artwork, which is old school enough to be loved. Awaiting further developments, a word of encouragement to the Dead Uns, whose path is undoubtedly marked but still very long!
