THE REVIEW

Terrible migraine upon waking.

It's sleeting with temperatures a few degrees below zero... what a drag not being able to meet my mountains today.

Only Music can help me; I've secluded myself in my solitary corner of the house. I don't want any disturbances for the next hour; my women know me and understand that when I feel like this, they have to leave me alone, ignore me.

A mere few minutes of "auditory madhouse," not even thirteen to be precise.

EP by Dead Cross, released in 2018 as a follow-up to their self-titled album from the previous year.

They're still four, still the same guys.

Mike, Dave, Justin, and Michael.

And there are four tracks as well, published by Ipecac Recordings of the vocalist Patton.

Video is utterly censored; the Music that emerges is no less intense.

Two new songs and two blistering remixes, infused with erratic electronics.

Adequate production; although I would have preferred less "perfect" and precise sounds. But it will do for today.

Thrash, Hardcore, Punk colliding, battling with each other. With Mike's flamboyant voice leading the other three crazy adventure companions. A voice capable of sudden bursts and screams, alternating with more sinuous, calm, mellifluous passages.

Dave's drumming is, as always, the driving force, the four-wheel drive traction. Double bass at will, offensive and uncontrollable timing.

Guitar and bass have to adapt, they have to keep up with the frantic drumming, and they manage to do so completely.

Yet another demonstration of controlled fury, inhuman strength, primitive violence.

My Perfect Prisoner is the cornerstone track of the bunch (I've recently posted it in my listens and I invite you to "admire" it up close).

The damage, the evil in Music... SKIN of a REDNECK...

...it’s almost no longer snowing now... and the migraine is subsiding... and not just the migraine...

Ad Maiora.

Summary by Bot

This review praises the 2018 Dead Cross EP for its intense fusion of thrash, hardcore, and punk. The band's explosive energy is highlighted through Mike Patton's dynamic vocals and Dave Lombardo's powerful drumming. The production is solid, though slightly too polished for the reviewer's taste. Notable tracks and the EP's ability to alleviate tension and pain are also emphasized.
