David Alan Mamet (born November 30, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American playwright, screenwriter and film director.

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright (Glengarry Glen Ross). Wrote screenplays and directed films including House of Games (his first film). Credited screenwriter on The Untouchables.

A DeBaser review praises David Mamet's first film, House of Games, as an intriguing, well-crafted con artist movie with a strong Joe Mantegna performance. The review highlights plot twists, attention to small visual details, and Mamet's screenplay strengths. Overall appreciation with minor criticisms of pacing and a cold female lead.

For:Fans of crime/psychological thrillers, students of screenwriting and playwriting, Mamet enthusiasts

The "Casa dei Giochi" is a not very well-known film that turns out to be the first movie directed by David Mamet, a playwright and screenwriter with a very respectable resume (I mention "The Untouchables" as the first title that comes to mind).
