Rating: Pop Life.
A life made of appearances, where the important and essential thing is to appear, follow fashions and trends, made of lights, sounds, and atmospheres. Atmospheres that dear David Guetta knows all too well, practically living in Ibiza, island of perdition, a never-ending amusement park, full of girls, nightclubs, the desire to have fun, to get wasted in the literal sense, where day merges with night. In fact, night is day, and vice versa.
The CD starts with "Baby When The Light", a decidedly melancholic song at first, one of those late-summer songs that brings some melancholy. In my opinion, it's not a song to dance to, but for a journey, when you are in the car driving back from the sea with your friends and the sun is setting. To mention the best songs of this album, the most beautiful single of 2007, which is "Love Is Gone". How many people danced to this song last summer is unimaginable. Perfect timing for release, perfect vocal part, original and fun video, and a catchy beat.
Because these are the four fundamental factors in Pop. Beat, vocal, video, and timing of release. Another song already included in "Guetta Blaster" but remixed, is "Love Don't Let Me Go".
Just to say a few words about this song, even though it's very similar to "Love Is Gone", the version contained in this CD has made a great impression, and so it is always pleasant to listen and dance to.
The strong point of Guetta is the presence of great vocal parts and excellent beat, and "Everytime We Touch" is the evidence.
In conclusion, for those who like the genre, I highly recommend buying this CD, and if possible seeing David Guetta in Ibiza during one of his nights at Pacha (or in Italy, but that's unlikely). Great album that has rightfully elevated the artist to the best house DJ of 2007 (according to the esteemed Dj Mag magazine). I am now waiting to hear something new before consecrating him personally as a "Super Star DJ", but I doubt it's a flash in the pan... someone who plays at Coachella with the Daft Punk...
