From the director of "Blade Trinity" and already the screenwriter of "Dark City" and "The Dark Knight," we expected more. Much more. Why? "The Unborn" is an almost unwatchable film. At least from my point of view.

Directed by David Goyer, The Unborn is a poorly executed mix of horror and thriller. A girl, played by the stunning Odette Yustman, begins to have visions regarding a child she discovers is very close to her... It's a story we've seen too many times, stuffed with "alternative" elements like the dybbuk (a demon from Jewish tradition) and various references to Nazism.

What makes you think is a screenplay that is nothing short of comical. The even more horrifying thing is that Goyer before becoming a director was a screenwriter...
The Unborn turns out to be a disastrous mix of various genres.

However, Goyer realizes the mess he's trying to create and at some point starts focusing on the protagonist's curves. If there's something to save in this film, it's Odette Yustman...

Without wasting too many words on a film that doesn't deserve it, "The Unborn" is something to be forgotten. An embarrassing screenplay with directorial choices that are anything but original. A slow film, poorly acted with a lack of ideas reflected in its mere 75 minutes. I can state with absolute certainty that this film is one of the worst contributions to the horror genre in recent years...
