The Profile

Daughters are an American band from Providence, Rhode Island, formed in 2002. Their discography includes Canada Songs (2003), Hell Songs (2006), Daughters (2010), and You Won’t Get What You Want (2018). The group evolved from frantic mathcore beginnings to a darker, noise-rock and industrial-tinged sound.

Vocalist Alexis Marshall fronts the band. The 2018 album You Won’t Get What You Want marked a return after years away and drew wide acclaim for its bleak, industrial textures and intense lyrics.

Three reviews chart Daughters’ evolution from math-blasted chaos to harrowing noise-rock. Canada Songs is pure, controlled hysteria; the 2010 self-titled record is a compact, clattering menace; You Won’t Get What You Want returns after years away with bleak, industrial weight.
