LA RECENSIONE

One-man band founded and directed by former DNA member Robin Lee Crutchfield, briefly forgotten by humanity and today, thanks to yours truly, rediscovered by the Debaser community.

Dark, monotonous, listless, and sad notes that transport us, with a fatalistic tone, before a God even more cynical than a corporate executive.

Synths, keyboards, the voice of a lazy storyteller, and a handful of basic yet effective lyrics. Orgasmic!

The sadness that the mini-compositions of Dark Day emit is neither vulgarly gothic nor foolishly dandy. Rather, it is a form of sonic catharsis, never shouted and never extreme that makes us understand, without much intellectual rumination, just how everything is vain and ephemeral.

I don't feel like adding anything else. After all, it is useless to describe with empty turns of phrase the emotional magma that this dark creature has managed to set to music during its very brief career.

"Collected" is a collection that carefully restores to us the most shadowy side of this underrated artist. A collection suitable for those who, for various reasons, love the minimal electronics of early Kraftwerk and the sadness of albums like "Closer" (that's Joy Division, ignoramus!).

To be listened to with headphones and strictly in isolation.
