How wonderful. Waking up in the morning and for the first time in six years discovering that Dannii Minogue decides to release a new album, a new record, indeed a new Greatest hits. But beware, this is neither a compilation, nor even a single collection or a generic greatest hits: This is it! The very best of... wants to celebrate 20 years of music (from 1991 to 2013!!) of one of the absolute queens of dance music and disco music.
In fact, in 2013 Dannii still holds the throne of the greatest disco successes over the likes of Madonna, Britney, Lady Gaga, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and her older sister Kylie Minogue. Especially since 1997, with All I Wanna Do and her shift to dance music, Dannii Minogue has reached number 1 on the dance chart with all her (12) singles.
"This is it! The very best of" still contains some singles from the very first distant record "Love and Kisses," and from the second one "Get Into You"; a duet with Kylie in a cover of ABBA's "The Winner Takes It All." Of course, all the singles from the two most successful albums "Girl" and "Neon Nights" and a brand new song (first recorded in 2010) titled "Cause You're Beautiful," adapted for this Best which already from the cover excites fans not only Australian and English of the queen of disco music.
The collection will also be released with some bonus tracks as a digital album on the best music download sites.
Who knows how long we will have to wait for a new album, as the last one ("Clubdisco") dated back to 2008. More than "jump to the beat," dear Dannii, I would say "Jump to the back," since this record once again takes us back!
