The year was 2004, and the youngest of the Minogue sisters, Dannii, was dropped by her record label London Records, a Warner label, due to the low sales of her album "Neon Nights" (even though it was her successful record) and due to internal issues.
Dannii did not get discouraged and decided to sign a new contract with another label, AATW (All Around The World).
During the summer of 2004 in Ibiza and in nightclubs, Flower Power by a group of Italian DJs, the Flower Power, was playing. The song was very house, with an electric guitar and an extremely interesting bass. The instrumental reached number 1 on the dance charts, and this intrigued Dannii, who proposed a written version of the lyrics "You won't forget about me" to the group; all this without ever meeting or seeing each other. "You won't forget about me" was a bit slowed down but still very danceable and made its debut at number 3 in Italy, marking the highest position ever reached by a Dannii Minogue single in our country.
Dannii's vocals in the song are impressive, splendid, a very deep and sensual voice.
The video for "You won't forget about me" was a tribute to her sister Kylie's career and her very first video "I Should Be So Lucky" from 1988. Some scenes are very similar, but Dannii's beauty wins over the video of her much younger and shy sister from 20 years earlier.
"You won't forget about me" was included in "The Hits & Beyond" (greatest hits of 2006) and in the original album "Club Disco" of 2008, both under the AATW label.
In both cases, the sales were disastrous due to little promotion; however, "You won't forget about me" was liked in our country, as many music compilations included it, and in 2004 it was even danced on the "Striscia la Notizia" set by the veline.
