Danielle Di Majo Quartet

Musical Group

An Italian jazz quartet led by saxophonist Danielle Di Majo. The debut album Chromatism (reviewed 2005) features pianist Michel Zanoboli (composer of most tracks), Marco Piccirillo on double bass and Ermanno Baron on drums. The group emerged after a win at Incroci Sonori Jazz 2004 in Moncalieri.

Chromatism is described in reviews as a debut album recorded thanks to Philology; most compositions on Chromatism are by pianist Michel Zanoboli, with the ballad "Soul Eyes" by Mal Waldron included. The rhythm section on Chromatism is Marco Piccirillo (double bass) and Ermanno Baron (drums).

Reviews on DeBaser highlight Danielle Di Majo Quartet's debut Chromatism as a well-crafted Italian jazz release, led by saxophone and featuring compositions by pianist Michel Zanoboli. Critics praise performance, recording quality and the rhythm section while noting typical debut imperfections. Dejligt appears on the same artist page and is discussed in one review.
