DANIELE COSTANTINI The First Man on the Moon

(Self-Production)

"The painter paints on canvas. Musicians paint their pictures on silence". Daniele Costantini, a Roman musician, defines his approach to music this way; quoting Leopold Stokowski, an English conductor active in the last century. And Costantini breaks the silence in an unusual way for a singer-songwriter (as he describes himself in the album's introduction notes). Yes, because Daniele likes to have a nice palette at his disposal, where there's room for a lot of colors. The color of rock, of funk, unusual especially considering that he defines himself as a singer-songwriter. A singer-songwriter definitely standing out from the crowd, Costantini, not so much for the content, but for his musical approach, more like a rock band that loves to traverse genres, and thus a singer-songwriter for whom not only the words, but also the form behind the words matters… It matters so much that the album was recorded at 432 Hz. And here we discover another “antagonistic” point (besides the lyrics that try to speak of a system that, as Daniele himself says, is now too tight for us); yes, because you should know that a dark organization (International Organization for Standardization) in 1955 decided that the 432 Hz format he uses was not suitable, and that we should conform to the standard frequency of 440 Hz. In the past, some had already completely disregarded these trivialities (the Pink Floyd, who tuned all their instruments, in many of their albums, to the A at 432 Hz). Costantini decides to do the same. It is said that the 432 frequency speaks directly to the heart chakra. Costantini with this bizarre disc manages to speak to our heart fully.
