Let's start with the name of the band: in an era where musicians pull their hair out to appear original, coming out with a Dance! No Thanks is not for everyone, therefore chapeau. We then arrive at the debut EP of this very young band from Cuneo, born in 2010 and able in just two years to write several songs, some of which ended up in "Don't Sweat It".
What is it about?! A work that pays tribute to pop-punk (see Blink 182) and the sound of the melodic Californian hardcore scene (old-school Ataris), two sound schools that have greatly influenced the musicians in the composition process. Specifically, the four tracks presented here sound modern and decidedly pleasant to listen to, thanks to an impactful sound that owes much to the excellent sound production by Fabrizio Panebarco of Melody Fall, here in the role of producer.
As often happens with debuting bands, the defects to be corrected for the future are evident, primarily the repetitiveness that occasionally hovers in the songs and the melodic/screamo vocal dualism that is as desired as it is still ineffective to listen to. Nevertheless, "Don't Sweat It" succeeds in the difficult task of not boring (a thing that often happens in overused territories like pop-punk), flaunting two hits like "Always" and "Sex & Violence" which will delight teenagers in search of "strong" emotions.
To give an exhaustive judgment on a product of only four tracks is practically impossible, therefore the recommendation remains one: if you love this type of sound, take note of their name.
